Abstract: The Siena College Research Institute (SCRI), located right on Siena’s campus, conducts surveys on a variety of topics to be published country-wide. In the process of data collection, calls are made not only to English-speaking households, but to Spanish-speaking ones as well, providing a means to examine the many differences in the Spanish language and various cultures who speak it. Through interviewing SCRI employees who conduct surveys, it is prevalent that there is not just one Hispanic culture. In fact, exploring the Spanish-speaking world’s diversity in this way is both fascinating but also eye-opening, as it is prevalent that the growing number of Spanish speakers in the country are not represented like they should be. Not only do these observations provide a way to explore cultural variations, but taking a deeper look at data trends and survey results also offer a view of some differences between hispanic culture and other ethnicities’ cultures that can be further investigated and explained.  Overall, this study analyzes the Research Institute’s work and examines the intriguing diversity of Spanish-speaking cultures which we are surrounded by living in the United States.
